Matawan and Aberdeen both issued Halloween curfews at their Oct. 18 council meetings.
According to the proclamation delivered in Aberdeen, residents should enjoy Halloween with their children while being assured that their "properties and well being are protected."
The curfew in both municipalities extends to all children under the age of 17.
In Matawan, it is in effect:
- Monday, Oct. 29 from 7:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following day
- Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 7:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following day
- Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 8:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following day
In Aberdeen, it is in effect:
- Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning
- Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning
What do you think of the curfew? Is 8:30 p.m. too early or is that an appropriate time for children to head home?
